We drove roughly 12,000 miles over the past 7.5 weeks.
Fuck you Toyota.

We’ve been driving 10+ hours a day to get back to NYC this Sunday, and Sam has been sadly stuck in her crate without much opportunity to run around.
We took pity on her and bought a laser pointer, one of her favorite things, and used it in the motel room to chase off some excess energy.
The video is about a minute long, and she’d already been running a lot, so she’s starting to slow down. But by the end of it she was a happy dog. Especially because we gave her peanut butter in a kong.

A building at Indiana State University in Terre Haute. No idea if it’s a dorm, but I sure hope not.

Pictured above is one of those megaphones towns in the Midwest use for tornado warnings (I think). I thought it was appropriate, since I would also like a giant megaphone to share this news.

We’re in Grand Junction, CO again. I took the dog on a short hike while Dan was working.

View from Cedar Breaks National Monument at approx. 10,460 elevation. Oh, and there’s snow on the ground.
I’m now starting my job on Nov. 10th (yay!), rather than Dec. 6th. So, Dan and I have had to make some changes to our travel plans.
We’re in Cedar City, UT right now, and were planning on spending the remainder of the week in Southwest Utah, visiting Zion and Bryce National Parks. But…. now we’re going to skip those and get on the road to make it back in time.
We’ve timed it out, and think we can make it to our apartment on Nov. 7th, giving me just enough time to buy some clothes and get a haircut.
We’re bummed that we’re missing out of some of our plans, but we’re excited to get back to NYC… and I’m definitely happy that my employer has enough work to need to bring people in early.
So…. we’ll see you all sooner than we thought!
